The video above takes a closer look at Addison TX, a small but packed Dallas suburb that punches out way more restaurants, events, and entertainment than you'd expect from a city of just four square miles. David Bridwell stopped through Addison while spending time in the Fort Worth area, and the video also covers a cool Fort Worth dive bar called Grandma's, where he got up and played some music with Steven Mononttoya.

What Makes Addison Worth Checking Out

Addison sits about 15 miles straight north of downtown Dallas, with a resident population of roughly 17,000 — but during working hours, around 12,000 commuters pour in from surrounding cities. It's one of those places where you can genuinely live, work, and go out without needing to leave town. The central location also makes it easy to get to Frisco, Plano, Arlington, or Dallas proper without much hassle.

The real draw is the food and event scene. Addison has been called the restaurant capital of Texas and reportedly holds one of the highest restaurants-per-capita numbers in the entire country. Beyond dining, the city hosts several major annual events including Taste Addison (a food, music, and art festival), Addison Kaboom Town (a nationally recognized fireworks and air show around the Fourth of July), and a large Addison Oktoberfest considered one of the more authentic Oktoberfest celebrations in the region.

Addison Circle Park sits at the center of a lot of this activity. It's a walkable area with wide brick streets, tree-lined sidewalks, restaurants, and apartments — the kind of place where you can live upstairs and walk to dinner or catch an outdoor event without ever getting in a car.

Where Can You Find Live Music in Addison TX?

Live music options in Addison are scattered across a handful of restaurants and bars, mostly clustered around or near the Addison Circle area:

  • Lion and Crown — A pub right on Addison Circle Park that hosts live music and is a solid spot to grab a drink while catching a set
  • Arthur's Steakhouse — Located just off the Circle Park area, this steakhouse brings in live music acts alongside a more upscale dining experience
  • Nate's Seafood — A casual seafood spot that features live music on select nights
  • Snuffer's Restaurant and Bar — A well-known local bar and grill with live music, right next door to Nate's

A Fort Worth Detour: Grandma's

The video also features Grandma's, a dive bar in the Near Southside neighborhood of Fort Worth. It's a relaxed spot with a retro feel — very much a neighborhood hangout. Steven Mononttoya plays there regularly and invited David Bridwell up to sit in for a few songs. The footage includes a live performance, and the place looks like exactly the kind of low-key bar where the music feels close and personal. If you're in Fort Worth and want something unpretentious with good live music, Grandma's is worth a stop.
